Advent Concert

The first and second grades of Sacred Heart School share yearly in an Advent/Christmas celebration sponsored by the Quincy Festival Committee at Church of the Presidents in Quincy center.  Father O’Brien and Rev. Sheldon Bennett lead this time of prayer. Our parish's Children's Choir also participates in this wonderful tradition. If you want to describe these events or share your impressions based on what you saw, you may need assistance with essay topic selection to choose a topic that will reveal the experience as much as possible.

The children dress as “angels” in long white robes. They recall the Christmas story, and sing some favorite Christmas carols. At the end of the service, weather permitting, the students gather across the street near the crèche to sing “Silent Night”, while enjoying the beautiful Christmas lights. After the service, all are invited to the gathering room in the church for hot chocolate and donuts!

This is a wonderful way to celebrate Advent and to prepare for the feast of Christmas.
