Parking
Parking is not available in front of the Glover Avenue door. This is a designated drop off area in the morning and a pick up area for the after school care vans.
Please do NOT stop in the middle of Glover Avenue to drop off or pick up your child/ren, as this will cause an unnecessary back up of traffic.
As a safety precaution, cars are not allowed to park in the schoolyard during school hours or at dismissal time. Students are dismissed into the yard and it is a meeting place. No person is to park, pick‑up, or drop off any student in the faculty/staff parking lot before, during, or after school. This is a safety precaution. We ask your cooperation in observing our safety rules.
REPORTING ABSENCE
If a child is absent for any reason, the parent/guardian must call the school office between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Upon return to school the student must have a written excuse providing the date, the reason for the absence, and the signature of the parent/guardian. The homeroom teacher keeps the written excuse on file for one year.
The admission procedure for a student returning to school after a communicable disease will be that established by the Quincy Board of Health.
No School Signals
When the City of Quincy declares NO SCHOOL due to inclement weather, Sacred Heart School does not have school. Please listen to radio and TV announcements for the NO SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS. Sacred Heart School announcements will be posted on Channels 4, 5, and 7.
If the City of Quincy calls only Morning Kindergarten, our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students, both morning and full‑day, will have school at the parent/guardian's discretion.
When there is an hour delay called in the City of Quincy, Sacred Heart School opens at 9:00 a.m.
Please do not call the school, rectory, police, or fire stations concerning NO SCHOOL due to inclement weather.
Once in session, Sacred Heart School will only dismiss if the Quincy Public Schools make such a decision. Do not call the school for our decision regarding dismissal, please watch the above channels for information regarding dismissal. The safety of your child/ren is very important to the administration and faculty at Sacred Heart School. We will not dismiss your child/ren without proper notification.
